Mapping Ash Trees
Kids, ages 12-18 are invited to participate in a local research project headed up by St. Lawrence University’s Nature up North.
You will map the locations of Ash trees in St. Lawrence County, with a focus on those in communities near the St. Lawrence River, to facilitate monitoring the spread of Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive beetle expected to impact local Ash species in coming years. Participants will learn to use a digital mapping app on iPADS.
The goal of the project is to educate k-12 students and community members about invasive species and to provide hands on, meaningful opportunities to engage in Citizen Science. It is fun, hands-on and engaging
Limited to 10 participants.
